The government and Kuwait have reportedly agreed to hire Ethiopian workers who have finished the three months of necessary training. A joint labour agreement will shortly be signed, claims Arab Times.
There will reportedly be employment at 600 labour liaison agencies in Ethiopia as a result of the agreement.
There are allegations that workers need to finish at least three months of training from a reputable university. After the disagreement between the two countries, a report claimed that Kuwait planned to hire Ethiopian workers to fill a labour shortfall. From the Philippines, Kuwait imports a sizable number of domestic employees.
A worker will earn 90 Kuwaiti dinars ($300) every month, according to the agreement between the governments of Ethiopia and Kuwait. At the current currency rate, this equals about 16 000 Ethiopian Birr. The likelihood that the monthly payment will eventually reach $500 has been boosted. The Ethiopian government believes agreements work, as was already mentioned.
