The Catholic Relief Society, or CRS, released a statement in which it expressed its sorrow over the deaths of the security guard and the driver, but it made no further mention of the incident.
The driver, Amare Kandeya, and the director of security, Chul Tongyik, were the CRO employees killed on Sunday in the Amara region while returning to Addis Abeba following field operations.
The two employees were shot and killed while riding in the company vehicle, according to a statement from CRS, but no other information is available.
The two Catholic Rescue Organization employees were killed in Amhara while travelling to Addis Abeba, although the precise location of the attack is unknown.
