Tsega Belachew, a worker at Dashen Bank’s Hawassa branch, was abducted by Tsegaye Tuke, the mayor of Hawassa’s personal bodyguard, more than a week ago.
According to the victim’s relatives, Tsega was preparing to marry in line with church law, and she and her future husband had already chosen a wedding date. The defendant, who is sought by the police for allegedly abusing her, repeatedly grabbed her and threatened to harm her.
The victim’s father is seriously ill and receiving treatment, and the incident has put the family through a lot of worry on top of the anguish they already feel from not knowing where Tsega is. Tsega was abducted in the Old Menharia neighbourhood after leaving work, according to the Menharia sub-district police department of the Hawassa municipal government. Tsega was travelling to a personal issue.

The culprit has still not been taken into custody by the police. It was reported that police activities are being carried out with outstanding collaboration and coordination with other parties, despite the fact that the victim’s condition is yet unknown.
The suspect kidnapped the victim, kept him hidden, and took him to both Hagere Salam, a neighbourhood near to Hawasa, and his birthplace. The police went undercover to the location after getting the information, but it turned out that the suspect had already received it and had left. There were people present who had already alerted the police of their planned activities, according to a police notification, making surveillance difficult.
