At 7:50 p.m. today in Addis Abeba’s Bole sub-city, the accident risk management commission announced that ten commercial shops in the Bulbula neighborhood were destroyed by fire.
Four emergency vehicles, one ambulance, and 27 emergency workers were deployed to suppress the fire, according to Ngatu Mamo, the commission’s public relations expert.
Although no one was injured, the extent of property loss and the source of the accident are being investigated.
Ato Ngatu went on to say that the current hot weather is a major cause to the occurrence and worsening of fires, and that the general public should be more cautious than usual.
