Rich locals and Eritreans, according to Getachew Reda, are allegedly being held captive in secret detention facilities in Tigray for ransom.

The president of the Tigray region claims that there are problems with the region’s temporary administrative setup.

Getachew Reda, the president pro tempore of the Tigray region, claimed that there is a group that prevents it from extending its structure to all zones and districts. In a statement he delivered to the local media yesterday.

Getachew disclosed that the districts that are not a member of the temporary government are impeding the development of the structure by refusing to adopt the new seal.

The President highlighted that since the victims are the people, the temporary administration should end before an elected government takes over.

He implied that the party would review the matter, but they made no mention of who was responsible for allocating the funds and obstructing the structure’s systematic development. The president didn’t go without stating that the provisional administration, which is the new strategy for separating the party from the government, has accused several party officials of taking part in anti-TPF acts.

He claimed that there are jails nearby that the government is unaware of, and that wealthy citizens and Eritreans in particular are being taken captive and held for ransom in these prisons.

He asserted that the security situation is not guaranteed, not even for the officials who are travelling with the passengers.

According to Ato Getachew, the region’s opposition parties have the right to hold nonviolent protests beginning tomorrow. However, they are currently negotiating with the authorities to change the protest’s location and time because there are forces nearby who are preparing to incite violence by assembling explosives at a high level.

He asserted that efforts would be made to handle the security issue despite the fact that politics is the source of all problems by mobilising the populace and lethargic security forces.

Mr. Getachew spoke on the Pretoria Peace Agreement, the return of refugees, those accused of stealing aid grain, and the measures the federal government had taken to avert war with the adjacent region.
