The civil unrest in the state of Sudan is causing people to flee to and pass through Metema Yohwans city in the western Gondar zone.
Due to the civil unrest in that area, people from many other countries are entering Sudan through Metema Yohwans city in the western Gondar province.
In Metma Yohwans city, which is located in the West Gondar Zone, many foreign nationals who have fled the fighting are being hosted.
Residents of 23 different countries, including Sudanese citizens, have fled the war in Khartoum to Ethiopia, a neighbour country, and are now moving to the preferred place as a result of the internal unrest in Sudan.
In this way, the picturesque West Gondar city of Metma Yohannes welcomes guests and receives 15 to 20 cars per day. 60,000 women, children, and weak people are also at risk due to this fighting.
The West Gondar Zone Communication states that “We have confirmed that the Metma Yohannes city administration, senior zone leaders, and relevant security agencies are carrying out humanitarian activities so that citizens can reach their desired areas without harassment.”
