Ethiopian Telecom has officially launched “Zemen Gebeya,” a nationwide digital marketplace

The marketplace, which was unveiled today, is supposed to connect consumers with inclusive suppliers of goods and services.

Speaking at the launch event, Frehiwot Tamiru, CEO of Ethiopian Telecom, said, “This digital marketplace, which is a new chapter for our country and lays the foundation for innovation and inclusive growth for all citizens, has made it easier for small and medium-sized businesses across the country to connect with consumers, empower them, and create new market opportunities to fully utilise the benefits of the digital economy.”

The Telebr SuperApp, which also features a dispatcher mobile app, a logistics management system, a merchant portal and mobile app, a consumer mobile app, and a system administration site, offers customers access to Zemen Market through a mini-app. In response to the request for collaboration with Zemen Market, over 42 distinct businesses and logistics service providers have started to offer their services. Companies and logistics service providers around the country have also been urged to join Zemen Market in promoting Ethiopia’s digital economy.
