Ethiopian students travel around China digitally for eight days

Three Ethiopian students are part of an eight-day digital trip led by Huawei that begins in Shenzhen and ends in Beijing, China. The tour began on September 1 and will end on September 8, 2024, and is intended for Tech 4 Good alumni of Huawei Seeds for the Future (SFTF).

Alumni of Seeds will have the unique opportunity to visit China’s digital landscape, learn about ICT and starting technical businesses, gain insight into how these businesses function, and speak with business executives thanks to this program. During the screening process, five percent of the most outstanding Seeds alumni from the 2023 SFTF Tech 4 Good program were invited to present productions on a variety of topics, such as Understanding ICT, Youth Entrepreneurship, and Sustainability, in addition to their personal development and career aspirations. Finally, three kids enjoyed fantastic trips in China.

The kids tell Huawei that as a result of their visit, they now have a firsthand insight and experience of how the digital world operates. The itinerary includes visits to the Smart PV Showcase at the Huawei Dongguan Campus, the ICT Advanced Course at the Huawei Exhibition Hall, the Cultural Immersion, the High-Tech Enterprise, and the Digital Government. Forty-five outstanding students from seventeen countries in Northern and Southern Africa are participating in this year’s 2024 Seeds for the Future China Digital Trip. SFTF, one of Huawei’s CSR initiatives in Ethiopia, is run in association with that nation’s Ministry of Education.
