Ethiopia and UAE to Host Bilateral Business Forum in Dubai to Expand Trade Ties

The Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (Addis Chamber), in collaboration with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and the Ethiopian Embassy in the United Arab Emirates, will host a major business forum in Dubai on September 2, 2026. The high-level event aims to strengthen commercial relations, unlock investment opportunities, and foster strategic market linkages between the two nations.

More than 40 leading Addis Chamber member companies and private investors are scheduled to attend the business-to-business (B2B) gathering. The forum is designed to provide a direct engagement platform for Ethiopian manufacturers, exporters, and service providers to meet face-to-face with prospective Emirati business partners and industry leaders in Dubai.

According to a statement issued by the Addis Chamber to Capital, the platform will play a key role in enhancing the international competitiveness of local businesses. Organizers emphasized that the meeting is expected to help Ethiopian firms expand their export reach while simultaneously attracting foreign investment and prominent UAE enterprises into the Ethiopian domestic market.

The forum comes at a time of escalating economic engagement between Ethiopia and the UAE. Recent official data indicates that bilateral trade volume between the two countries has surpassed $6 billion, underscoring a growing economic partnership and increasing regional commercial interdependence.

Industry observers view the upcoming Dubai forum as a constructive step toward diversifying trade portfolios and deepening private sector cooperation. Stakeholders from both nations express confidence that the event will yield tangible commercial agreements and further solidify long-term economic ties.
