Eight people on a boat on Chamo Lake drown and pass away

The accident occurred yesterday afternoon, according to “Ethiopia Insider,” which quotes Amaro special district communication.

The motor boat on Chamo Lake was carrying passengers from Alfacho Kebele in the unique region of Amaro to Arba Moungan when it was swept away by the storm.

One of the eight people killed in the collision was the boat’s driver.

As soon as the disaster was found, efforts were made to rescue the victims’ lives, but because to the high water at Chamo Lake, they were unsuccessful.

Even Arba Mojang city swimmers arrived at the scene of the disaster and tried to save lives, but it is said that the tide prohibited them from doing so.

Once the tide on Chamo Lake retreated this morning, a search was conducted to look for the deceased’s remains. According to the Zonal Police, the boat was carrying eight people as well as provisions and bananas.

The police said they are looking for a variety of boats and swimmers and that the attempt to save life has been boosted significantly.

It is said that the only items found during the search were shoes and a variety of apparel.

No one has yet been found alive, according to the Peace and Security Division of the Amaro Special District Administration.
