CCBA Graduates 31 Pan-African Leaders

Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) has graduated its first pan-African cohort of 31 leaders from 12 countries under its Senior Leadership Acceleration Programme (EDGE), marking a major investment in the continent’s corporate talent. Designed to build the next generation of business executives, the milestone underscores a growing private-sector push to cultivate local leadership capable of driving long-term economic transformation.

Developed in partnership with Henley Business School Africa, the initiative expanded its reach this year to incorporate participants from the broader Coca-Cola ecosystem. This broader alignment brings together executives from The Coca-Cola Company, Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Company, and Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company, fostering cross-border collaboration and shared strategic vision across diverse regional markets.

The intensive curriculum focuses on equipping high-potential managers with advanced competencies in strategic thinking, operational resilience, and inclusive management. Industry analysts note that structured acceleration initiatives are increasingly vital for navigating Africa’s dynamic regulatory environments, supply chain complexities, and rapidly growing consumer markets.

Operating across 14 African nations and servicing over 840,000 customers, CCBA positions this initiative as a core pillar of its broader sustainability and growth strategy. By intentionally investing in homegrown talent, the organization aims to future-proof its operations while directly addressing the systemic shortage of specialized executive capabilities in emerging markets.

The graduation arrives at a time when economists and corporate leaders are emphasizing the private sector’s role in accelerating continental development through the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). Observers suggest that empowering cross-functional leaders who understand regional nuances will be decisive for sustainable economic integration and robust corporate governance.
