Arega Kebede has been chosen to serve as the Amhara Region’s leader

Dr. Yelkal Kefale’s resignation as the region’s president was accepted in the first emergency meeting of the Amhara Regional Council in Bahir Dar, which was in its sixth round and was carrying out a two-year tenure. Arega Kebeden thereafter assumed that role.

Ato Arega Kebede took an oath today before the council.

The fight between the Fano Militias and the federal government forces, which has disrupted the peace in the region, will be the new ruler’s primary focus.
