According to reports, a police officer shot and killed a 32-year-old Addis Abeba resident who was residing in the Kirkos subdistrict of district 11.
Eyursalem Asrat, a resident of Kirkos Subdistrict, was assaulted by a policeman.
According to Ahadu Radio on November 20 , 2023, Eyerusalem was shot and died in Kirkos sub-district, district 11, Keble 25 by a police officer responding to an argument between her and her friends.
Ahadu confirmed that 32-year-old Eerusalem Asrat died after suffering a strike to the back.
Ahadu enquired about the circumstances from Deputy Commander Markos Tadase, the Addis Ababa Police Commission’s director of public relations.
In response, they said that the offending police officer had been placed under arrest and that an investigation is being conducted into the circumstances surrounding his gun-firing capability.
He went on to say that they will monitor the trial procedure and notify the public as necessary going forward.
