The African Union (AU) has officially deployed an election observation mission to monitor Ethiopia’s upcoming general elections this Monday.
The 73-member delegation, drawing experts from 37 African nations, includes diplomats, election administration specialists, human rights experts, and civil society representatives.
Led by former Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta, the team is tasked with ensuring a transparent and credible electoral process.
The AU announced that the mission will issue its preliminary findings during a press conference in Addis Ababa on June 3. A comprehensive final report is expected to be released two months later.
