Ethiopia and Russia have officially signed a detailed joint action plan in Addis Ababa aimed at implementing the peaceful use of nuclear energy. The agreement was finalized by Sandokan Debebe, Commissioner of the Ethiopian Nuclear Energy Commission, and Nikolay Spassky, Deputy Director General of the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation, Rosatom. This roadmap serves as a practical framework to transition previous high-level diplomatic discussions into tangible technical projects.
The newly signed document acts as a follow-up to the memorandum of understanding established between the two nations in Moscow last September. By outlining specific milestones and responsibilities, the roadmap seeks to streamline the integration of nuclear technology into Ethiopia’s national development strategy.
