African Americans and Ethiopians celebrates Black History Month in Addis Ababa
Ethiopia, is celebrating Black History Month for the first time. Black African Americans and Ethiopians held a panel discussion in Ethiopia on the occasion of Black History Month.

The country which is regarded as the birthplace of Black sovereignty is celebrating the occasion through various programs. The celebration aims to commemorate the positive contributions that Black African Americans have made in the world.
The panel discussion held at Eliana Hotel was attended by Black African American scholars from various fields including diplomats and Ethiopian entrepreneurs.
In the panel discussion Black African Americans have spoken greatly about the sacrifices black peoples made for their freedom and stated that their is still systemic racism in the world.

The panel discussion also highlighted the need for black people around the world to stand together to uphold their excellence and elevate the dignity of black people.
Black History Month, which was first celebrated in Ethiopia, focused on black excellence and honored 28 influential African American women. Organizers said the celebration will continue to be held annually in Ethiopia.
