A resolution passed by the Federal House of People’s Representatives has the People’s Liberation Army of Tigray (TPLF) off the list of terrorist groups.
The motion to remove the TPLF from the terrorist list was discussed during the today’s special meeting, and the decision was unanimously approved by the council.
It will be noted that on October mid , 2022, in Pretoria, South Africa, under the aegis of the African Union, an agreement was made to terminate the war in the north between the Ethiopian government and the TPLF.
The federal government and the TPLF have been working together in accordance with the signed peace agreement, which upholds the country’s constitutional order and protects Ethiopia’s national interests.
It is well known that the federal administration started organizing the distribution of humanitarian aid and basic services in the Tigray region.
The TPLF also provided the Federal Defense Forces with heavy weapons and organized the rebels in a camp.
This peace agreement supported the council’s decision to strike the group off the list of terrorist groups.
