In a press conference held at the Capital Hotel in Addis today, the delegation led by His Highness Abune Abraham confirmed that the war between Hamas and Israel does not pose a threat to tourists or pillagers because it is taking place far from biblical and historical sites. The delegation had visited the holy places in Jerusalem two weeks prior. The party made visits to important Israeli museums as well as Golgotha, Calvary, Der Sultan, St. Mary’s Church, and other nearby locations in Jerusalem.

The ambassador was questioned by journalists about why his administration had not resolved the dispute involving the Deir Al-Sultan monastery between Egyptian and Orthodox monks. “On the monastery issue, what can I say is Ethiopian government should bring the matter to Israel government to resolve the monastery dispute issue but also repaint some of the religious sites which are being used by Ethiopian Orthodox Tewhado church,” said the ambassador.
The ambassador was also questioned by journalists about why his nation hadn’t established a museum in Addis to highlight the historical and cultural connections between the two countries.
The ambassador said he has been in contact with the Addis Ababa administration on the prospect of building a museum, and they are now awaiting a response.
