The Ethiopian Athletic Federation has elected Seleshi Sehin, a former athlete, as its president

Seleshi Sehin was elected at the Federation’s 28th Ordinary General Assembly today, replacing former Olympic medallist Derartu Tulu, with 11 of the 26 votes cast going to him.

Athlete Seleshi has over 15 years of experience competing in half marathons, marathons, cross-country races, long-distance races (five, ten, and fifteen kilometres), and middle-distance races (three, five, and ten thousand meters). After Abebe Bikila, Mamo Wolde, and Mruts, the Green Flood generation—which included Athlete Seleshi, Haile Gebrselassie, and Kenenisa Bekele—dominated world athletics. It is thought that the athlete will repair the harm done to Ethiopian athletics and bring it back to its former glory because of his extensive athletic background and moral character.
