Yesterday, the Stay Easy Plus Hotel, whose construction cost over 1.5 billion Birr, was officially inaugurated in front of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The hotel has 103 rooms, including two suites, spread across six halls that may host banquets, weddings, performances of the fine and performing arts, and other events.
The three bars and one dining room of this hotel have generated more than 250 jobs.
This hotel is located ten minutes’ drive from Piazza’s central business sector in a quiet, open neighbourhood.
It is said that when they gaze out of the rooms’ windows, they can see the entire city of Addis Abeba in all four directions.
In his opening address, Mr. Saleshi Girma ,state minster of Ministry of Culture and Tourism,
claimed that the construction of a hotel next to Entoto, which we created as a tourist destination, will have a profoundly favourable effect on the sector. The area where the hotel is being developed will greatly contribute to enhancing the country’s income and reputation by providing a full hotel for Entoto Park guests, especially those who want to see the Entoto Botanic Garden. He said.
The hotel is 2,250 square metres in size overall, 1,200 of which are dedicated to construction.
There is a charging station for visitors who bring electric cars, and the hotel’s upcoming expansion project is said to contain a sports gym, sauna, steam room, swimming pool, cultural café, and concert hall.
The hotel’s managing director, Mrs. Hiwot Ayele, claims that an eight-story hotel is preparing to make 30,000 loaves of bread every day to provide affordable bread to the neighbourhood. The hotel’s subsurface water system also provides free water to the surrounding area.
There are less than 250 five-star hotels in Addis Abeba, the geographic hub of Africa. Nationwide, there are about 600 five-star hotels.
“Ethiopia is home to 120 million people. The hotel is really small. In order to solve this problem, she continued, we must collaborate with the government to build more hotels.
The success of this project depends on a number of things, including investment opportunities, land, bank loans, foreign money, and trained labour. She added .
“We are deeply grateful to Dashan Bank, Addis Abeba Administration, Gulele Sub-city, engineers, designers, and workers who participated in the hotel’s construction, local residents, our friends at home and abroad, our beloved children, and all of our hotel staff,” she concluded.
