Dula Mekonen’s request to stay in his role as the bank’s chairman of the board of directors was granted by the National Bank of Ethiopia. He was suggested to keep this post during Dashen Bank’s thirty-first regular board meeting.
The chairman was re-elected by the newly elected board members to head the Dashen Bank board of directors for the ensuing three years during their meeting held last Tuesday at the Sheraton Addis Hotel.
Dula Mekonen, holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in business administration from Adama University of Science and Technology. He also has a diploma in agricultural engineering.
He has worked in several universities and the sugar mills in Wenji Showa, Metahara, and Fincha for a total of twenty-four years. Mr. Dula was employed by Limu Coffee Development Limited Liability Company and served as general manager of Fincha Sugar Factory.He held a general management position at both Ethio Leather Industry Plc and Horizon Plantation Plc.
Dashen, which was established in 1995, saw a 31.9% increase in earnings before taxes to Birr 5 billion in the most recent Ethiopian fiscal year.
