An individual infected with monkeypox (Mpox) has been detected in Ethiopia

The Mpox-infected individual was discovered in Moyale City. A joint statement about Mpox has been released by the Ethiopian Public Health Institute and the Ministry of Health. The announcement stated that the institute has verified the discovery of a Mpox virus-infected individual in samples obtained from suspected patients in the Oromia region’s Moyale municipal administration. Through additional testing, it was determined that the virus was present in a 21-day-old infant and that the mother had been exposed to it.

Additionally, it was revealed that the father of the kid had visited a neighbouring nation, and it was declared that the places he visited and the people who had direct contact with him had been tracked down and identified.
