A hostel in Addis Abeba shuts down because it housed gays

Action has been taken against establishments that engage in LGBT practises in the city by the Addis Abeba Peace and Security Administration Office and the Addis Abeba Police.

The Addis Ababa Peace and Security Administration Office is taking enforcement action against hotels, bars, and restaurants in coordination with the Addis Abeba Police.

The bureau asserts that it has started taking action against hotels, restaurants, pensions, and other similar entertainment establishments that deviate from the country’s established culture, custom, lifestyle, and religion in response to requests from the people.

According to a statement made by the Addis Ababa Peace and Tranquilly Administration Bureau, homosexuality is against the law in Ethiopia. It has also stated that it will continue to act in cooperation with the police based on recommendations from the community if there is any sympathy for those who conduct and carry out this heinous deed that is hated by both man and God.

In response, he started taking action against the “Ababa Guest House” entertainment venue, which is situated in Yeka sub-city district 02 administration, after receiving a tip from the neighbourhood peace and security office.

According to the information we have obtained from the office, the city’s communication department has declared that it will continue to take irrevocable action based on the suggestions it has received.
