African Union Deploys Election Observation Mission to Ethiopia

​The African Union (AU) has officially deployed an election observation mission to monitor Ethiopia’s upcoming general elections this Monday.

The 73-member delegation, drawing experts from 37 African nations, includes diplomats, election administration specialists, human rights experts, and civil society representatives.

​Led by former Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta, the team is tasked with ensuring a transparent and credible electoral process.

The AU announced that the mission will issue its preliminary findings during a press conference in Addis Ababa on June 3. A comprehensive final report is expected to be released two months later.
