Dema Hope Real Estate and FastPay Launch New Diaspora Payment System

Dema Hope Real Estate and the technology firm FastPay have officially entered into a strategic partnership to implement a digital payment solution for the Ethiopian diaspora. The agreement establishes a formal channel for individuals abroad to conduct financial transactions related to the purchase of residential and commercial properties. The initiative is designed to provide a legal and standardized framework for international payments within the real estate sector.

The partnership enables clients to transfer funds from global locations directly into the developer’s verified bank accounts using FastPay’s digital infrastructure. According to the participating firms, the system utilizes current exchange rates and is intended to reduce the processing times and security concerns previously associated with cross-border property payments. This move shifts the transaction process toward a fully digital, traceable model.
Dema Hope Real Estate, which currently oversees eight active development projects, stated that the collaboration is part of its broader operational strategy. In addition to its primary real estate activities, the company noted its ongoing participation in social responsibility initiatives, specifically the construction of educational facilities. The integration of a dedicated payment platform is expected to streamline the administrative side of these expanding project portfolios.

FastPay is a financial technology provider authorized to operate in both Ethiopia and the United States, specializing in the digital remittance sector. The company maintains technical and operational links with all domestic commercial banks in Ethiopia. Its role in this agreement is to provide the underlying technology that facilitates the transfer of foreign currency through recognized banking channels.
The introduction of this service comes as the industry increasingly looks toward fintech solutions to manage international investment. By connecting real estate developments with regulated remittance tools, the partnership seeks to address existing logistical barriers in the market. Both entities indicated that the service is now available to members of the diaspora looking for a structured method to manage their property investments in Ethiopia.
