The 7th Huawei ICT Competition 2023, organised by Huawei Technologies in partnership with the Ethiopian Ministry of Education, attracted more than 1500 college students.
18 students received prizes at the ceremony from Dr Solomon Abraha, the CEO of governance and infrastructure for the Ministry of Education. The nine winners of the global final competition won Huawei tablets, while the other regional competition winners received Huawei armbands.

The Huawei ICT Competition 2022-2023 was launched on November 11, 2022, in conjunction with the Ministry of Education. When the national ICT competition was conducted in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia, on December 28, 2022, more than 1500 students from Ethiopian institutions had registered and taken the online preliminary exam. 63 pupils were able to attend out of these. 18 African students who performed exceptionally well on the national exam took part in the regional competition. In the 7th Huawei ICT Competition Global Final, which was held in Shenzhen, China, from May 24 to May 28, 2023, nine out of the 18 competitors finished in third place.
