Ethiopian Airlines cancel its flights to the cities of Amhara region due to the ongoing fighting over there

According to the information obtained  from the official social media page of Ethiopian Airlines, the airline has announced that flights to Dese (Kombolcha), Gondar, Lalibela and Bahadar have been canceled for the coming Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

It informed that the customers who bought a ticket to travel to the place know that their ticket is valid for one year and they can change it on the days they want without extra charge.

However, the airline stated that passengers who want to be refunded can go to the airline’s ticket offices or their travel agents.

The airline also apologized for the inconvenience caused in this regard.

The airline did, however, advise passengers who wanted a refund to go to either their ticket offices or their travel agents.

The airline apologised for the problems this caused as well.

Currently, fighting is taking place in the Amhara region between government forces and Amhara Militias known as Fano.
The main reason for the conflict was that Fano refused to comply with the government’s demand that the local special forces be disbanded, while some Amhara political figures asserted that the Amhara people were the victims of atrocities.
