In Tanzania, OLA and the Ethiopian government begin negotiations for peace.

The Tanzanian peace talks formally begun this morning, local sources told the BBC. There are six people involved in the conversations, including representatives from the Oromo People’s Liberation Army (OLA) and the Ethiopian government, according to individuals who talked with the BBC.

The government delegation, according to the BBC, included Dr. Gideon Timothy and Ambassador Redwan Hussain.

The Oromo Liberation Army was represented, according to the BBC, by senior historian Professor Mohamed Hasan, Commander-in-Chief Jiregna Gudata’s advisor Mr. Abdi Taha, and others.

The Tanzanian government’s representatives have also neglected to do so, despite the fact that both parties to the negotiations have acknowledged that negotiations have started.
