A delegation for peace to Mekelle will be led by the Blessed Fathers of the Orthodox Tewhado Church

Following the relative calm in the Tigray region, letters have been sent via the Holy Synod to the good fathers there. It is recalled that the Tigray dioceses’ ties to the General Secretariat of the Patriarchate were severed as a result of the war in northern Ethiopia.

The ambassador gave a statement on EOTC TV today since the distribution of the letter did not produce the desired outcomes. A committee made up of holy fathers, church experts, well-known people, and laypeople has been established, according to the Holy Synod.

The committee’s mission is to create a space for peace and cooperate to find a means to reconcile.
It reiterated in its remarks from yesterday that the group would travel to the Tigray region in the coming weeks to carry out the directive of the Holy Synod.
