The government has decided to provide 801.6 billion birr in the proposed budget for the next year

The Council of Ministers examined and approved a resolution regarding the Federal Government’s draughts budget for the 2016(2024/2024 fiscal year during its 21st regular meeting.

In order to maintain national security, help people who have been displaced by natural or man-made disasters, rebuild the infrastructure destroyed by law enforcement operations, and achieve future directions and objectives of social and economic transformation, the federal government’s 2016 budget has been examined.

The years 2023-2027 are developed and presented based on the macroeconomic and fiscal framework for the medium term.

801.65 billion birr total—made up of 369.6 billion birr for routine federal spending, 203.9 billion birr for capital expenses, 214.07 billion birr for support of the regions, and 14 billion birr for the achievement of sustainable development goals—was presented to the council.

After extensive deliberation, the council unanimously decided to increase funding and transmit the Federal Government’s 2016 budget bill to the House of People’s Representatives.
