With the theme “Filling the Gap by Providing Evidence-Based Modern Orthopaedic Treatment,” the 18th scientific conference of the Ethiopian National Association of Orthopaedic and Trauma Specialists got underway today. Invited guests, including Health Minister Dr. Mekdes Daba, were present.
Dr. Efrem Gebrehana, the association’s president’s representative, opened the meeting by thanking the association members for their active participation in previous years and outlining the topics of discussion at this year’s conference. He stated that there would be a thorough discussion on the services that victims of fractures and fracture-related injuries should receive as well as what modern rehabilitation in the sector should look like globally. He went on to say that those attending the conference who have a great deal of experience in the field will share their perspectives from countries with a lot of information.

The association’s goal, according to Dr. Efrem, is to raise public awareness and advance the profession. He went on to say that compared to earlier times, our country now provides better and more comprehensive orthopaedic care. Along with some honoured invited guests who have made significant contributions to the subject, the conference was attended by at least 500 specialists from across the nation. The industry’s research publications and technological achievements were also highlighted.
