More than 350,000 consumers start using electricity for the first time, according to EES

Shiferaw Telila, the CEO of the Ethiopian Energy Service (EEC), announced in a statement issued today that 125 rural towns had also obtained electricity.

He stated that it has been challenging to improve the service due to insufficient infrastructure and security challenges.

The organisation would reportedly set aside 3 billion birr in the forthcoming fiscal year to upgrade the electrical infrastructure, according to sources.

The official added that the company is dismissing employees who are interfering with the provision of services.

Additionally, it is stated that attempts would be made to connect 100 more cities and 600,000 customers to the main power line during the 2016 fiscal year.
