Aysheshem Teka, a businessman from Ethiopia, is named the most powerful businessperson in Africa

The 2023 list of Africa’s Most Influential Executives was created by the Xin Africa Media Group and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a division of the World Bank Group.

At the African CEO Forum in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, businessman Aysheshem Teka of Ethiopia was crowned the continent’s most powerful CEO.

Over 1,000 executives, including ministers, authorities, and powerful individuals, attended the event, where Ethiopian investor Aysheshem Teka shared his knowledge and experience with the audience.

A credit agreement for 7.5 million US dollars was signed by the investor and officials of the International Financial Cooperation (IFC) in related news.

According to them, the credit agreement will enable them to assist their South Sudanese investment initiatives.

Before Aysheshm, the IFC had never given money to the  private sector in South Sudan .

Aysheshem Teka put a lot of effort into growing from receiving a daily wage of 7 Birr to being the boss of a huge company.

This entrepreneur, who has lived in Juba, South Sudan, for the past 15 years, is well recognised for his involvement in a number of business projects. He was also successful in building the only telecom institution ever established by an Ethiopian abroad.

The investor received honorary citizenship from the South Sudanese government in 2019 for his contributions to the country’s peace, development, and humanitarian aid. He has received many more honours and awards.

The investor made a contribution to the economic growth of South Sudan and other African countries, notably Ethiopia, in September 2023.
