With improved appearance and technology, SPARK 20 Pro elevates the well-liked SPARK 20 Series in commemoration of the African Cup of Nations.
Modern technology brand TECNO unveiled its newest SPARK 20 series model today at an opulent event hosted in Freindship Park in Addis Ababa. Executives from TECNO Mobile Ethiopia, prominent figures in the Ethiopian football scene, and other key players were in attendance. The SPARK 20 pro Series Limited Edition was also unveiled by TECNO, the Africa Cup of Nations 2024’s official mobile phone sponsor, during the ongoing AFCON festivities.

The event not only celebrated the iconic continental football competition but also honoured some of the most iconic Ethiopian football personalities who made history with their role in the country’s participation in previous AFCON tournaments. It also showcased the power of elite sports and cutting-edge technology to spark unforgettable moments.
A special guest was invited to the Tecno phone unveiling programme, including former Ethiopian football players Asrat Megersa, Addis Hintsa, Seyoum Tesfaye, Behailu Assefa, Berhanu Bogale (Fadiga), Minyahel Teshome, and their coach Sewnet Bishaw, who represented Ethiopia at the African Cup of Nations in South Africa eleven years ago.
“Through our partnership with AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS AFCON 2023, football brings together Africa to celebrate heritage, passion, pride, and joy,” said Alick Huang, Brand Manager for TECNO Mobile Ethiopia.
“When the SPARK 20 and SPARK 20 Pro were released in 2023, TECNO’s SPARK Series created a splash and made a lasting impression. These devices were well-liked by people looking for an improved lifestyle because they demonstrated digital superiority while yet being reasonably priced.”
“As we kick off 2024, TECNO is still going strong. Leading the charge is the head of the SPARK 20 series table, the SPARK 20 Pro+. It is set to redefine technology with unique features that will elevate the experience for budget smartphone enthusiasts.” He added.
The Tecno Spark 20 Pro+’s specifications

The Tecno Spark 20 Pro+ comes with a 6.78-inch curved display with FHD+ resolution, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a maximum brightness of 1000 nits. The front of a 32MP selfie camera with a built-in dual LED flash has a punch-hole cutout.
Additionally, it has a feature similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island called “Dynamic Port,” which displays notifications, call details, charging status, and other information.
The device is powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 Ultimate CPU, which is likely an overclocked version of the Helio G99. It has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage out of the box.
On the rear of the phone are three cameras, the main one being a 108MP sensor. The specs of the other two sensors are currently unclear. There is a twin LED flash on the camera.

Durability is enhanced by the IP53 designation for dust and water protection, and the lights are powered by a 33W quick-charge 5,000mAh battery. Notably, Android 14—the most latest version—comes pre-installed on the Pro+.
The Spark 20 Pro+ will be available in four different colorways: Temporal Orbits, Lunar Frost, Radiant Starstream, and Magic Skin 2.0 Green (faux leather back). It should be competitive in its class even though the pricing is still unknown.
