The Renaissance Dam won’t be full until the first week of September, PM Abiy

According to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, Ethiopia won’t complete construction of the Renaissance Dam until the beginning of September due to demands from Sudan and Egypt.

According to the prime minister, the dam was previously filled in mid-July, but this year it was said that it would happen after enough water had reached the two nations.

This summer, when the third round of filling for the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam was complete, the fourth round was supposed to start. According to the prime minister, Ethiopia has extended this agreement in response to a request from the two nations.

According to sources, Sudan and Egypt are both interested in a legally binding agreement overseeing the construction of the Renaissance Dam. The African Union, the Arab League, the United Nations, and the major Western countries are all aware that Egypt has frequently expressed its reservations about the project to them.
