Tana Lake and its several monasteries have reportedly been registered with the UN Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, according to the Amhara Regional Culture and Tourism Office. (UNESCO).
The Culture and Tourism Bureau announced this at a forum for Virtue Trainee Training held at Bahir Dar University and the Ministry of Peace.
The region’s heritage sites of Lalibela and Fasiledes had already been added to the World Heritage List, and efforts are currently being made to add Lake Tana and its monasteries to the list as well.
The Amhara region, which was mentioned in the discussion, is home to a diverse population with a variety of cultures and values.
